The number one question asked? 'Well...how was it?'

It was good. It was in fact very good. Was it good enough to wait a long time in line? No. Was it good enough to cause a frenzy across the country at the lack of this sandwich? Nope.

There aren't a lot of Popeyes in Maine. In fact, there are 3 that I know of. One in South Portland, an actual stand alone restaurant and drive-thru, and a couple at rest stops on the Turnpike. So when word spread that not only could you NOT get the chicken sandwich anywhere (and apparently it was life changing) it's all anyone wanted. And when it did come back (this past Sunday), there aren't a lot of places to go. Hence the lines at Popeyes in South Portland.

We literally JUST beat the crowds by showing up at 11 am. By 1130 am, cars were lined up around the building and people started to poke out the door waiting...

Would I get the hard to come by chicken sandwich from Popeyes again? Sure...if I was there and it was there and I was hungry. Would I go out of my way? Nah...but kudos to Popeyes for making me want this more than Christmas.
