Here’s What the Inside of Maine’s Famous Wedding Cake House Looks Like
Take a bite out of this breathtaking home for sale in Kennebunk, Maine. This is one of the most incredible homes I've ever seen, and I think we've all seen the outside by now.
It's fittingly called the Wedding Cake House, and as a result, it has garnered a crazy amount of attention, showcasing its remarkable beauty.
The home was built in 1825 and sits at 104 Summer Street in Kennebunk, Maine. This gothic style trim castle is on the market for a staggering $2.65 million, according to Realtor.
The home is presented by Nathan McCabe and brokered by Pack Maynard & Associates Real estate LLC, according to the site.
Not only is the exterior of the home my favorite shade of yellow, but it's a straight-up castle!
With eight beds and 5.5 bathrooms, this castle cake home is over six thousand square feet, as per the site.
As a lover of period dramas set in the 1800s to mid-1900s, I'm super drawn to what life was like before today's technological age. Homes that are similar to those periods of time pull me in. This home's exterior exudes that era, and its interior follows suit! The rooms in this home remind me of the popular Netflix series, Bridgerton.
Since we're all familiar with the outside of this home, let's dive deep into the beauty of the interior. I am going to highlight my absolute favorite rooms, and explain why each is so unique and special.
Let's take a peek at what we'll call the library. Among the 14 rooms, it's the one that immediately stood out to me. I'm uncertain about the decorator behind this masterpiece, but I'd love to enlist their expertise for my own house! From the exquisite curtains to the remarkable shelving, this tranquil corner is screaming elegance and individuality.
Next on my list was the teeny tiny bathroom, which brought a smile to my face. Decorating small spaces can be a challenge, but this seemed effortlessly created because it's such an inviting space. It shows a natural beachy feel, and gives me a cozy, "cupboard under the stairs" vibe.
We cannot go far without speaking about the spiral staircase. Imagine walking slowly down these stairs, one step at a time, in a ballgown. I know, a girl can dream!
I think the best part about this home (besides its elegant architecture) is its art collection. The pieces are exquisite, and each room tells a story.
