Old Soul Collective is a local popular establishment in Waterville, Maine, that has recently taken a unique approach to deter protestors.

Yesterday, I stumbled upon a photo gaining semi-viral traction online and drawing significant traffic. It showed the exterior of Old Soul Collective, where protestors advocating "Anti Abortion" were stationed directly outside the storefront.

In response, the owners of Old Soul added something to their windows to convey their peaceful disagreement with the protestors' stance to consumers and the public as a whole.

Old Soul showcased pro-Roe v. Wade clothing in their storefront windows.

The anti-abortion protestors had set up camp outside the store, prompting the business to politely request their relocation. However, Jessica McKeage, part owner of the establishment, stated that the protestors intend to remain for another 40 days.

In response, Old Soul Collective decided to display merchandise supporting reproductive rights as a statement to potential buyers that they do not align with the protestors' views.

This is a creative and peaceful solution, not only asserting the store's stance, but also serving as a visible deterrent to further protests.

Free speech and freedom of protest is a right that we all have. The Constitution states,

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
