According to the New York Post, 71-year-old Maine lifeguard survives a terrifying encounter with a great white shark... and somehow the internet's biggest takeaway is, "Can I have his number?"
Greg Wilfert has been a lifeguard for 55 years. He's got the long beach blond hair, the rugged beard, total Dog the Bounty Hunter energy, and after his TV interviews?
Social media has absolutely fallen in love!

People are calling him a silver fox, saying he's the definition of "aging like fine wine," and honestly... the comments are hilarious. Men, women, everybody seems to have a little crush on this guy.
Then he drops the quote of the year after escaping the shark.

The comments on this one from Maineinmind on Instagram are too good not to share, like "Kansas we see your Tiger King and raise you Shark King" or "If Dog the Bounty Hunter turned into a Maine lifeguard"
He says, "I could've beaten Michael Phelps" swimming back to shore. You can't script that.
He said the shark dragged him underwater by his rescue buoy, he broke free, and swam for his life. Thankfully, he's okay, and now he's basically become Maine's newest heartthrob.
So what started as a scary shark story has somehow become a full-blown love story... between the internet and one legendary Maine lifeguard.
