For many families that look forward to trick-or-treating for Halloween, the weather is pretty much always a hit-and-miss situation. In the past few years, there have been a couple frigid Halloween nights and there have also been a couple comfortable ones.

Weather models are beginning to come together to suggest that this year's weather for Halloween may be something new all together for most people. It might be hot for portions of Maine. Like mid-70's with a little bit of humidity type of hot.

Maine plunged into more seasonal temperatures throughout the weekend and that is forecasted to continue into early this week. Overnight temperatures for most places in the state have dropped close or below freezing over the past couple days.

But by the middle of next week, another warm front should be moving in. That will bring a 3 or 4 day stretch of unseasonably warm temperatures, which will include Halloween.

As of this writing, the majority of the state would temperatures exceeding 70 degrees for most of the day on Halloween. The evening temperatures will be balmy as well, with upper-50's to low-60's expected after the sun sets.

Last year, Halloween was comfortable for most Mainers, where temperatures sat between the upper-40's to mid-50's.

If the forecast holds, it should make for some incredibly enjoyable trick-or-treating for families who will not have to worry about being cold or going from stop to stop in a vehicle. As long as the rain that is forecasted for Wednesday stays strictly to Wednesday. Let's hope so.
