I'm almost embarrassed to say that I had my first Jersey Mike's sub within the last year or so. Man, was I missing out. I had just assumed that it was another chain sandwich shop with mediocre sandwiches but that was not the case at all.

Living not far from the Falmouth line, I was excited to hear that they are opening a brand new location in the old Olympia Sports location at 240 U.S. Rt. 1, across from the Shaw's plaza.

Set to become a go-to destination for meat lovers and snack enthusiasts, Jersey Mike's will satisfy all the taste buds with their wide array of gourmet jerky offerings.

Jersey Mike's is the brainchild of Mike Thompson, a passionate foodie with a knack for crafting mouthwatering sandwiches, he opened Mike's Submarines in 1958. Peter Cancro worked at Mike’s in high school. Then he bought the shop in 1975 when he was only 17. Peter is founder and CEO of Jersey Mike’s which today has more than 3,000 locations open and in development. His focus on product quality and giving has really propelled the brand.

I'm not sure what it is about their sandwiches that sets them apart from others, but with the several of them that I've tried, I'm hooked on the first bite. The Buffalo Chicken Cheese Steak is typically my go-to, but their cold sandwiches are exceptional as well.
