Here in New England, we know we're lucky to live in one of the best parts of the US.

Over the years, countless websites have directed high praise towards our region. We've received shoutouts for having the hottest zip codes, most underrated destinationsbest small citiescoziest towns, and more.

Now, the travel website Far & Wide has chimed in by publishing a list of America's coolest small towns by state, based on sources like "U.S. News & World Report, Reader's Digest, Architectural Digest, The Travel Channel and House Beautiful magazine." Their selection for Massachusetts was a lively little community on the island of Martha's Vineyard.

We all know about Martha's Vineyard, the "picturesque island paradise" filled with scenic beaches, lovely hotels, and lots of shopping and dining options. People from all over flock to this place during the warmer months, including the "fetching" seaport village of Edgartown, which Far & Wide has named the coolest place in the Bay State.

Edgartown is accessible via ferry, and has been a vacation destination for both the Clintons and Obamas, according to Far & Wide:

A favorite of presidents, including the Clintons and most recently the Obamas, Edgartown and Martha's Vineyard provide the quintessential New England coastline setting — sailboats in the harbor, beach cottages, Victorian-styled resorts and soft, sandy beaches, all providing a welcome reprieve from the mainland's hustle and bustle.

A quick glance at Tripadvisor reveals some of the many things to do on the small island town. Tourists can take a stroll on South Beach, visit the scenic Edgartown Lighthouse...
