10 Hilarious Ways Outsiders Can Tell You Grew Up in New Hampshire
It's always interesting to hear what people think about New Hampshire, whether they're lifelong residents, out-of-state newcomers, or new vacationers.
In the past, we've talked about things that shocked people after moving to New Hampshire, what people say when they hear you're from New Hampshire, unwritten New Hampshire rules, lies Granite Staters tell themselves, and even things you'll only understand if you live in New Hampshire. These conversations made it clear that there are some experiences only us locals can understand and relate to, and they bring us together in often humorous ways.
For those of us (including yours truly) who grew up in New Hampshire, it doesn't matter whether you stayed in the area or left 20 years ago and never looked back. The places we grew up in are always part of us, and sometimes, that fact manifests itself in more ways than one.
We decided to ask our Facebook audience about the hilarious ways outsiders can tell you grew up in New Hampshire. Maybe it's your insatiable love of maple syrup (but only the real stuff). Perhaps it's your wardrobe, which is actually four wardrobes thanks to our ever-changing climate. And if you're like this writer, it could be because the cashier at your local Dunkin' knows you because of how frequently you show up (sorry not sorry). Whatever the case may be, here's how people can tell you grew up in these parts.
