Fake Bomb Threats Made Against New Hampshire, Maine Courthouses

New Hampshire and Maine courthouses were among those receiving bomb threats on Thursday around the country that turned out to be hoaxes.

The New Hampshire Department of Safety’s Information and Analysis Center said the threats received are not credible. The agency did not disclose what courthouses received the threats.

The Cumberland County Courthouse in Portland received a threat via email around 10:15 a.m., according to Portland police. A sweep by K-9 units found no explosive devices, and the building was reopened around 11:30 a.m.

It's the second day of threats made against government buildings around the country and in northern New England. 300 people were evacuated from the Maine State House Wednesday after a bomb threat was emailed to a State House employee, according to Maine State Police spokeswoman Shannon Moss.
