After Storm Damage Delay, J’s Oyster in Portland, Maine, Finally Opens
Welcome back, J's Oyster! We've missed you.
J's Oyster is one of the more popular places right on Portland's waterfront that gets plenty of traffic from tourists. But it's loved by Mainers, and since the multiple storms this past winter, it's been closed. Speculation online was that they may never open. But alas, TODAY IS THE DAY! Friday, June 7, 2024!
Why did it take so long for J's Oyster in Portland, Maine, to open?
Oh, if you missed the why in the delay, you know if you were around for the December, January, and April storms. This was J's in January of 2024.
The flooding along the waterfront in Portland, Maine, was relentless. J's may be reopening today (Friday, June 7), but they aren't confident that they won't have to deal with flooding again as an iconic restaurant on the waterfront. They are keeping those sandbags handy!
Are Seize the Deal certificates still valid at J's Oyster in Portland, Maine?
Those Seize the Deal certificates you've held onto are still valid at J's Oyster in Portland, Maine! Remember, at J's, they are famous both for their oysters and the fact that they have no deep-fat fried foods. All their seafood is prepared without frying it. That means they don't have french fries, and you'll never miss them. That's how damn good and fresh their food is.
I can't wait to become best friends with the person sitting next to me at the horseshoe bar while I plow through a lobster dinner. Welcome back, J's!
