While some restaurants' stories sadly come to a close, others start a new chapter.

Standard Gastropub, which opened in Bridgton, Maine, in 2013, has officially rebranded.

As of May 2026, you can now visit The Last Chair, which, according to its website, "brings together scratch-made food, rotating global specials, weekend brunch, and one of the area’s largest craft beer selections."

Standard Gastropub is Now The Last Chair in Bridgton, Maine

In a May Instagram post, Standard Gastropub revealed its new vibe and name with The Last Chair.

Considering it's just minutes from Pleasant Mountain, the ski theme certainly fits.

Portland Food Map reported that the Bridgton restaurant has "'always really been an Apres ski bar at heart' and that the new business name better reflects that."

What to Expect at The Last Chair in Bridgton, Maine

If you've been a fan of Standard Gastropub and are sad about its "end," don't worry.

The Last Chair not only has the same owner but also the same menu. So that means ordering a BBQ Bacon Burger or a Nashville Hot Fried Chicken is no problem.

The Last Chair's website notes the menu is influenced "from Apres Ski favorites, Southern BBQ pits, global street food, car-hop burger culture, and more."

Oh, and if you're a fan of a good cold beverage, The Last Chair features over 200 craft and specialty brews. So, just know you've got options.

The restaurant shared that there will also be new changes coming, including some fresh ski-themed interior design as well as an outdoor oyster bar with live music.

So, sure, the restaurant name may have changed, but much of what made Standard Gastropub a local favorite remains intact. The Last Chair is simply embracing an identity that feels right at home down the road from Pleasant Mountain.

It's certainly been a long journey of ups and downs these past 13 years for the restaurant, including surviving the pandemic, and now it's time to say hello to its new iteration.

The end of one thing, and the beautiful start of another. Here's to many more years.
