Maine’s First Ever Slime-A-Con in Augusta
Kayla Sue Roberts is a grown up who loves slime and is throwing the first ever Slime-A-Con in Maine.
What's slime? It's the sticky stuff your kids and grandkids are begging you to let them make at home or buy at the store? For adults like Kayla, its like the new age stress ball.
It's a creative outlet where the colors, scents, and textures have endless possibilities.
Kayla of course, was not the only one making slime. Thousands of people, mostly young adults, around the world are creating their own slime shops and promoting them through Instagram.
But there weren't enough opportunities for beginners who wanted to share slime and learn more and have fun comparing and sharing!
So...she created Slime-A-Con.
Think of this as a craft fairs for slime makers and slime lovers. These conventions provide an opportunity for young ones to come together, promote their businesses, and meet others who love all things slime. Young adults can meet their friends from "the slime community",enter contests, giveaways, and even make their own slime.
Slime-A-Con Augusta is September 28th at the Augusta Armory from 10am-2pm.
There will be tons to do including live slime demos, face painting, slime workshops, games, enter your own homemade slime contests, caricature drawings, and much more!
She is looking for 60 slime vendors as well as 20 other artisans selling their handcrafts and retail products such as Scentsy.
Any interested vendors are encouraged to email Kayla at slimeaconevents@gmail.com to apply.
Who would have thought some Elmer's glue and food coloring could possibly help kids pay for their college tuition?
