As many of us unfortunately know all too well, the housing market is tough right now.

Not only is rent skyrocketing and units in high demand, but the cost of owning a home is becoming more and more out of reach for many.

In light of the current housing crisis, Brittany Rose from Q97.9 concluded that as a millennial in Maine, she believes she'll likely never own a home. 

The situation isn't looking much brighter in New Hampshire, either.

According to this New Hampshire Business Review article by Paul Briand, the median price for a single-family home in Rockingham County was more expensive than any other county in the state as of February, sitting at a whopping $550,000. Although not a county, the Seacoast region is even more expensive, averaging at $612,000. Wowza.

We all know that living in this part of the country can be costly due to location. Apparently that's still the main factor in rising home prices, particularly in Rockingham County and southern New Hampshire as a whole. According to NHAR president Adam Gaudet:

“Southern New Hampshire allows for quicker trips into Boston, and you’re still within an hour to the beach, lakes or mountains. There are plenty of commuters who work in Boston and surrounding areas that find southern New Hampshire is more affordable than living in Massachusetts."

Additionally, Seacoast Board of Realtors statistician John Rice cites the high Seacoast region prices as "bringing up the county median."

We know Rockingham County is quite expensive, but where do the state's other nine counties rank when it comes to median prices?
