My Son’s Before and After Haircut Photos Are Like Looking at Two Different Kids
My son Jake, or Jacob depending on how he feels on a particular day, had not had his hair cut since the beginning of the pandemic. Two full years without it being touched. I'd ask and ask and ask if he would get his hair cut or at the very least trimmed, and the answer was always a flat-out no. Until this weekend.
He finally decided it was time to get the hair that was down to his chest in the front and nearly halfway down his back cut, and I knew this was going to be a day that would be long remembered. So off we went to a new place in Windham called "Great Clips" at Shaw's Plaza. They were in for a challenge.
He wasn't quite sure what he wanted for a cut, but the hairdresser helped him figure it out. Then the clippers came out and off it came bit by bit.
The whole process only took about 15 minutes or so, but when it was over there was enough hair on the floor to be able to make half a dozen wigs.
How does he look? Like a completely different kid.
I can see his ears again!
Seriously, his hair looks way better than mine did at his age. Here's the side-by-side comparison.
When I went to pay the stylist said it was only $5.95, their grand opening special. I said, "Oh no, you're getting way more than $5.95." She did a great job with all that hair.
Now that that's done, the next step is to teach the boy how to shave. Wish me luck!
