No More Self-Checkout?! Here’s What Could Shockingly Happen in Maine Soon
We had an absolute terrible time once Walmart took away our bag privileges, now this? I'd drop half of my cheap makeup in the parking lot trying to carry everything I bought in my arms to the car.
No more self check-out at Walmart
AS IF that wasn't punishment enough, there's a rumor that places like Walmart, Target, Trader Joes, even BJ's & Costco's are looking to get rid of their self-checkout.
Why are self check-out's being closed down?
According to thesun, Walmart was forced to shut it down because of naughty stealing biscotti's. A spokesperson from their super store in St. Louis commented,
"The popular branch has now axed its self-checkout aisles to tackle spiralling thefts".

Are you absolutely out of your damn tree? Whoever is making this decision, please kindly get back up there in your tree. Now is just not the time to give the world one more thing to test our patience and send us over the edge.

I'm also seeing rumors here and there that the no self check-out rule could start trickling into other major stores like BJ's or Trader Joe's, even Costco's.
Again, nothing is official here in Maine just yet, but if this does happen to our state, I think you're gonna get a bunch of very angry rednecks. I know the whole point of this is to lower the crime rate, but you're going to possibly do the opposite.
People may not be able to steal as much anymore, but they also will be so fed up waiting in longer lines now that they'll commit different crimes like fights. Or am I just practicing girl math and spiraling right to worst-case-scenario? What do you think?
