Julian Edelman may have stopped a school shooting in Michigan because of his Instagram account.

Edelman was with Danny Amendola on a trip to Texas last month and put up a picture of the two on his Instagram account.

After the picture was shared, one of his followers sent Edelman a message:

Dude, there is a kid in your comment section says he's going to shoot up a school, i think you should alert the authority.

He first had his assistant find the comment to confirm it, then contacted authorities.

The comment has since been taken down, but the New York Times managed to get a screen shot of it.

Police found a 14-year-old boy, who admitted to making the threat in Michigan. It might have just been a stupid prank comment, but police did find rifles in the home that belonged to his mom. The 14-year-old was charged with making a false report of a threat of terrorism.

Edelman takes no credit and says it really was that follower who alerted him about the comment...

Either way, I'm grateful that this story is about stopping a school shooting and not reporting the number of people who were killed.
