Election Day is behind us and while you may have been a bit distracted during the start of this week, it's time to pull yourself up by your bootstraps and drink yourself to the finish line. It's Beer Week in Portland, a city who tops the charts for the highest rate of microbreweries per capita of any city in the country, according to Smartasset. Suffice it to say, Portland Maine is the place to celebrate local beer and there's no shortage of events to hit up as you round out your politics-filled week.

Wednesday

Ever wanted to go straight from coffee time to happy hour? The Maine Brew Bus crew will bring you to coffee, donuts and beer as they cart you from Bard Coffee to the Holy Donut to Gritty McDuff’s. Take the tour and taste it all for yourself!

Saturday

By now, you might need a bit of recovery. Stumble your way over to The Thirsty Pig for the UK Brewers' BrunchThe Mini Bar will be serving up some tasty beverages on the back deck while bartenders inside will be pouring delicious brews from our friends across the pond.

For a look inside the craftsmanship, passion, and innovation within the beer industry (and a break from guzzling pints), take a look at the premiere of Douglas Tirola’s BREWMASTER from 7-10 pm at Space Gallery.

Finally, end your day at Howie's Pub with KaraOh-J, where the Lone Pine staff will be hosting karaoke and their smooth-as-silk beers. Their famous Oh-J IPA will be on draft, while Portland Pale Ale and Brightside IPA will be in cans. Be sure to bring cash, and as always (but especially during Portland Beer Week): DRINK RESPONSIBLY.
