This young husky seems to have wandered away from home and the Portland police are hoping to help get the pup back to where it belongs.

Overnight the Portland police found the young husky alone and wandering around on Webb Street off of Brighton Avenue. It had no collar or identifying tags, so they gave it a ride to the Animal Refuge League in Westbrook for safe keeping until its owners are located.

However without any way to ID the dog, they have turned to social media to try to reunite the pup with its family.

If your husky is missing or you know someone who this dog might belong to, you can contact the animal refuge league at 207-854-9771.

This is a good reminder to make sure your dog has a collar with a tag so that in the unfortunate event that they become lost, your furry friend can be easily returned to you when found.
