It dawned on me early this morning that I haven't been to a Portland Sea Dogs game yet this summer. I know there are plenty of games left in the season but by now I usually have made a half dozen trips or so to Hadlock Field to watch some baseball.

A quick look at their schedule and I was reminded that Portland Sea Dogs baseball is so much more than just a game, it's a family friendly event.

The Dogs are back home this Thursday night for a game against Binghamton and it's an 80s themed throwback night.

Sunday is a great one for the kiddos, too. It's princess and pirate day at Hadlock Field.

Kids 16 and under are encouraged to go to the game dressed as a princess or a pirate and have a blast in a pregame tea party on the field from 11:30-12:15 with lemonade, iced tea, cookies and brownies. Tiaras and eye patches will  be available for all of the princesses and pirates.

Then after the tea party the kids can take part in a princess and pirate parade around the field and meet some of their favorite princesses and pirates from Rent A Princess.

The game then starts at 1pm. Tickets available here.
