It’s Been One Year Since Lori and Jeff Left Q97.9 and Went to 94.9 HOM

What a crazy, wonderful year it's been.

On May 15, 2023, one of the biggest and craziest radio moves happened. Lori and Jeff, who had been on Q97.9 for over 20 years, left the Q! But they didn't go far, just down the dial to 94.9 WHOM.

Yes, Jeff hates that Bitmoji. We didn't change a thing. Just the signal. When we started 2024, we had both just survived our first Christmas on HOM. Lori loved it, and Jeff tolerated it. They did enjoy our Christmas commercials very much.

"Are you happy on 94.9 HOM?"

This is by far the number one question asked of both Lori and Jeff. The question comes out of concern that we were 'forced' to move to HOM or that it was against our will. It actually was Lori and Jeff's idea to move. It was time to leave 'Top 40' with such a young audience. I mean, these two are pushing 60, and there's no stopping that!

Listen, they are still relevant and funny AF, but maybe not completely tuned into what those young whippersnappers* are doing.

*Using the term 'whippersnappers' is exactly why they moved to 94.9 WHOM.

Just so you know, this was a pretty big deal. Never before in Maine (and rarely throughout the country) has a hugely popular morning show switched stations with complete transparency. You see, sometimes people are 'let go', or move to another state or a rival station. But this isn't any of those. This was a move initiated by Lori and Jeff, and completely supported by their bosses. In fact, they really dig the idea.
