Don’t Miss This Seasonal Menu Item at a Popular New Hampshire Winery
LaBelle Winery in Derry, New Hampshire
Back in December 2020, according to Derry News, Brookstone Events and Golf in Derry, New Hampshire -- a popular golf course and wedding venue -- was purchased by the owners of LaBelle Winery in Amherst, and turned into another New Hampshire location of LaBelle Winery.
While the Brookstone stone sign still sits at the entrance, the location is now fully "LaBelle'd," offering homemade wine, vineyard activities, rounds of golf, and more.
LaBelle Lights
One of those "more" offerings is a spectacular light display around the holiday season, which they've simply titled "LaBelle Lights." According to their official website, there are over one million lights strung up around the grounds of LaBelle Winery, and visitors are welcomed to purchase tickets and walkthrough the entire display.
The LaBelle Lights display begins operating in mid-November every year and runs through the first week of January, offering special theme weeks along the way as well as the opportunity to indulge in signature cocktails and other beverages at the start of your illuminated journey.
Americus Restaurant at LaBelle Winery
One of the most genius moves to make when visiting LaBelle Lights (or anytime, really) is to make a reservation at Americus Restaurant, which is on the LaBelle Winery property and, according to their official website,
...focuses on New England contemporary farm-to-table cuisine with an international flair and a full bar serving LaBelle wines, craft cocktails, craft beers, and nonalcoholic beverages.
According to one of the servers at Americus, the menu changes seasonally, and some items that make it on the menu are added after they perform overwhelmingly well during a bit of a testing phase, much like one of their current offerings.
Braised Short Ribs at Americus Restaurant
Served on top of massive piece of laffa bread (which is similar to flatbread or Naan), the braised short ribs were added to the Americus menu after being offered as a special and quickly and routinely becoming sold out.
Along with the braised short ribs that have been seasoned with allspice that legitimately melt in your mouth, also added on top of the laffa bread is sriracha rice, an apple and olive salad, and more deliciousness.
Buyer beware, though, the serving size is either perfect for a pair of customers to split, or if you order it solo, prepare to bring the rest of it home with you, because the helping prepared for you is massive.
