I'm not a snowboarder, but if I were and suddenly saw an avalanche barreling down Mt Washington's Tuckerman Ravine at me, I would need to change my underwear.

Our friends at the Mt Washington Avalanche Center have shared some photos of a huge avalanche that occurred this week at Tuckerman Ravine. Avalanches are a real danger in this area. In fact, March is the deadliest month in the Mt. Washington area and avalanches are one of the culprits.

We heard something on the airwaves today we rarely hear, An Emergency Alert Warning for an Avalanche. We have the information.

A 7.9 earthquake hit Nepal on Saturday, and at least 2,500 people have died.  Most of them were in the capital of Kathmandu.  But at least 17 people climbing Mount Everest also died when it triggered a huge avalanche.  A guy from Germany was at base camp with a bunch of other climbers when it happened, and he caught it on video!
