Yesterday the Time and Temperature sign in downtown Portland read "VOTE TDAY" and now on the day after the election it has a new message that has to do with the election results.

I always love trying to figure out what the message on the Time and Temp sign means. It's like trying to solve the puzzle on Wheel of Fortune but you can't buy a vowel.

Today it reads "100 WMEN." So I turned to Google and searched 100 Women. My first result was the 2002 movie 100 Women which has no reviews from movie critics on Rotten Tomatoes and is only liked by 35% of the public. Well that's not it.

Then I came across an article from the Huffington Post noting that after the results of this years election, the United States Congress will have 100 women for the first time ever. Democrat Alma Adams from North Carolina will be the one to make the 113th Congress the first ever to have 100 women serving concurrently. That's some pretty big stuff right there.

Think about it. 100 women in Congress when less than 100 years ago women were not even allowed to vote. We've come a long way.

So what's next? The first woman to become President? We'll have to wait and see.

[UPDATE] So maybe the meaning of this message is NOT 100 Women in Congress. Dawna Hall provided a link on our Facebook page to 100 Women Who Care Southern Maine, an organization for women in Southern Maine that contribute to local charities. They are planning their first meeting on November 13th.

Foiled by the cryptic Time and Temp sign with it's 8 character limit!
