When you see trains you typically see them traveling in areas where they are pretty clear of any obstacles. There's a place in Massachusetts and Maine where trains come extremely close to buildings as they pass by.

The first in Peabody Square in Peabody, Massachusetts. Trains have to travel slowly past the back of a pizza place.

This line is used often, but when a train does go by, it usually takes everyone by surprise.

The second close call with trains near buildings is in Livermore Falls, Maine. The Rumford branch of Pan Am Railways runs through downtown Livermore Falls on its way to and from the Catalyst Paper Mill in Rumford and come very close to Androscoggin Bank.
