If you grew up in Central Maine like me, chances are you escaped to a magical place in the Vaughan Woods of Hallowell. We played there as kids and returned as teenagers to enjoy the wild meadow, walking trails, way cool bridges and waterfalls.

It was always the best make-out spot around with all that stunning natural beauty. There may or may not have also been some mind-expansion activities while listening to the Grateful Dead for many as time went on too.

Needless to say, this peaceful place we affectionately call "Hobbit Land"  will always hold a special in my and all my Augusta peeps' hearts forever.

Well imagine my joy when I came across this video from YouTube sensation, The Nomadic Fanatic. He's from Olympia, Washington and travels all over the country to discover amazing places and document them with super well-produced videos.

Eric has been pretty much everywhere and in the video he refers to Vaughan Woods as   "the best I've seen out of Maine so far."

He then goes on to ask, "Is this not one of the prettiest places in country?"

Yup, it sure is! Sometimes we need an outta statah to help us not take this uniquely beautiful state for granted. Thanks for reminding us Eric.

According to the description on his channel, his

"name is Eric and I travel with my cat, “Jax” in a 2001 Chevy Fleetwood Tioga Arrow 24D Class C RV. We travel about 35 miles a day chasing 70 degrees year-round."
