The Massive Amount of Rain in Maine on Thursday Morning Was Like ‘Waterworld’
Nobody told me that Maine was susceptible to hurricanes.
I woke up to hard rain hitting my window and wind sounding like a freight train.
The only thing missing was thunder, as I schlepped to my car in the brazen storm and cautiously went to work.
I knew rain was going to be in the forecast but this?
Ahh geez, this can't be correct for this time of year, could it?
I parked and walked to the building to see Monument Square looking like a wind tunnel of forgotten dreams and mangled umbrellas.
How could this possibly be. It reminded me of that futuristic sci-fi thriller Waterworld from the '90s.
I guess what I would like to know is, the weather we got this morning, is that common in Southern Maine or was this a one-off?
If so, I need to invest in a raincoat.
