Skimo or Rando racing is when you go both UP the mountain and DOWN the mountain...in a hurry! The race is open to everyone!

Ski mountaineering racing (randonnee or skimo) has been in the Northeast for about a dozen years.

Coming on the morning of Maine Adaptive's 32nd Annual Ski-A-Thon, Sunday River (which recently got 2 feet of snow thanks to the blizzard)  is hosting the 'Something Bigger' skimo race.

It is by far the most expansive course layout ever held in the Northeast with elite athletes competing - but YOU can enter too as the race is open to anyone. There is also a shorter, noncompetitive course too.

Maine Adaptive provides free adaptive lessons in alpine and Nordic skiing; snowboarding; snowshoeing; paddling; cycling; tennis; and golf. The Ski-A-Thon raises over half of Maine Adaptive's yearly operating funds, which provides equipment and programming to almost 500 adults and children every year.

Please get a team of 5 to come and join in an amazing day and maybe do your own crazy skimo race!
