I follow a creator on Instagram named Alexandra Nelson, or @alimakesthings. She designs, paints, and creates beautiful art, much of it motivational and inspirational messages.

She posted this piece on Instagram the other day and it really got me thinking. What would I tell myself this time last year, knowing what I know now? How would I prepare myself for the adventures and happiness, as well as the challenges and struggles ahead?

For me, I would encourage myself to stick to creating and doing things for myself. I would tell myself to be a little more selfish with my time. I would make a list of books I wanted to read instead of a list of TV shows I wanted to binge. I wouldn't tell myself anything about the job change that was ahead though (hello, Q Morning Show!) because I like the way everything played out and I wouldn't change a thing.

I love this question as a way to reflect on the past year before I start to plan resolutions for my 2016.
