I have lived here in Portland for almost three months, that along with growing up in New England.

I have to ask, why is it when there is a flake of snow on the ground, people tend to stay home from work? The office of the station is a skeleton crew, the entire office building for that matter is sparsely populated.

If we are going to hunker down and binge Netflix all day, then we are we buying these big boy trucks and SUVs and coats and LL Bean Boots?

When I lived in Vermont, I would put my snowshoes on and walk to the office while leaving my tiny Nissan Sentra at home in the driveway.

Am I off base for wondering why people are staying from home for three inches of snow? What do you think? I welcome your feedback.
