We all have busy lives and finding the time to grab a shopping cart going through the aisles of the supermarket can be difficult. Now if you live in the Lewiston-Auburn area, you can have your groceries delivered to you at home with Instacart.

Instacart is a company based out of San Francisco that partners with local grocery stores to delivery groceries you order through their smartphone app. The service has been available in Portland since December and now has expanded to Lewiston-Auburn.

Participating stores in both cities are BJ's Wholesale, CVS Pharmacy, Petco and Shaw's. Instacart is also partnered with Whole Foods in Portland.

Customers order and pay for groceries on the app and a shopper/driver goes to the store chosen to pick out their order and deliver it usually within an hour or two. Similar to ride companies Uber and Lyft, Instacart hires local people to do the driving, shopping and delivery.

There is a 5% service fee on your order plus any tip you leave the driver paid through your app, but if you can't find the time to get to the grocery store, it might be worth the extra money.
