It's officially cruise ship time in Portland, Maine, which means we're about to start seeing tons of tourists walking around the Old Port. I've said this before and I'll say it again – although tourists can be quite annoying walking in the streets with their bucket hats and flowered shirts, they're also a big reason a lot of restaurants and bars downtown are alive in the summertime. Most states refer to Portland as the bachelor/bachelorette capital of America, which also checks out in the summertime.

Have you ever parked your car along the Eastern Prom downtown and people watched passengers boarding on and off the ships when they enter the port? It's the best people watching you'll ever do. So if you want to plan ahead of time (or just plan for heavier traffic that day), here's a full list of when and what ships will be docking up in the Old Port starting in June.

According to cruisetimetables.com, the first cruise ship to dock up in the city will be Wednesday, June 5, 2024, and called the Seven Seas Mariner. The following day will also be a Seven Seas Mariner, followed by a ship called the Silver Shadow, coming in on Friday, June 21, 2024.
