3 Maine High Schools Listed In Top 500 In The Nation
Yarmouth, Cape Elizabeth, and Falmouth all made the top 500 this past week after U. S. News and World report released the rankings today. In overall best schools in the nation, Falmouth was ranked 485th, Cape Elizabeth placed 429th, and Yarmouth was the highest ranked Maine High School at 209th.
According to Centralmaine.com rankings have changed drastically since last year, with Falmouth at 328, and the Maine High School of Math and Science ranked all the way at 19th. As a state, Maine ranked fifth in the nation, with 22 percent of 72 eligible high schools reaching the magazine’s top rankings. That compares with 25.7 percent for top-ranked Massachusetts. In the last three years’ rankings, Maine has been identified as seventh, ninth and 24th.
