5 Maine Emojis That Need to Be Considered for 2021
Each year a new batch of emojis is announced. The Unicode Consortium is responsible for each release. The Unicode Consortium is a non-profit that came about to create a universal standard of character codes throughout the globe.
Last year we Mainers got the lobster and this year, blueberries! We still have a ways to go until Maine can fully be represented in our emoji drawers.
5. Bean Boot
Ok so it likely wouldn't be SPECIFICALLY L.L. Bean but the duck boot style is immensely popular so it's about time it gets some emoji representation.
4. Moose
The deer emoji just isn't good enough. Let's show some respect to these beasts. I'm sure Alaska and Canada will back me up here.
3. A really cold person
Ok, they have a cold/frozen smiley face but I think we can do better. There are people in bathing suits. Why not someone bundled in a jacket, scarf, hat, and mittens? That's our outfit for like, 6 months out of the year!
2. Chickadee
State bird. Enough said.
1. Pothole
The bane of our driving existence. If our tax dollars can't fund the potholes being repaired, can they at least fund an emoji?
