A Biddeford Girl Turns Her B-Day Party into Fundraiser for Animal Shelter
This is a heart warming story that you need to read right now!
Sadly it seems like lately every time you open your Facebook news feed or turn the TV on something awful has happened. We are so inundated with bad or scary news that we have become desensitized to what it is doing to our souls. This is a defense because if we felt every sad and scary story we see and hear; we wouldn't leave our homes everyday. That's when you know it's time to detach for a time and seek out those beautiful stories of people doing good things for the world. They are all around us but, hard to find sometimes. This is one of those stories I bet you could use right now.
According to WGME Channel 13, Maddie Thayer is wise beyond her years with a huge heart. She celebrated her 10th birthday in her hometown of Biddeford over the weekend and only had one request. She didn't ask party goers to bring her presents. She asked for presents to the animals living right now in the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk. Her friends and family sure enough followed her one birthday wish and collect a boat load of goodies for those waiting for a forever home. The AWS caught wind of her beautiful good deed and waived the adoption fees for several senior kitties! You go girl!
I know, I should have told you this is tissue worthy.
