It's not often you come across the headline, "a pony needs penis surgery". It's an uncomfortable topic for a lot of people to think about, let alone talk about. But when you hear the story of the 15-year-old pony named Richard living in Bridgton, Maine, it may open your eyes, and your wallet, to a sweet animal that desperately needs some help.

According to the Bangor Daily News, Richard was rescued from a horse dealer out of Charleston, Maine a few weeks ago. He was put into the care of Brogan Horton, who discovered that Richard has been living with cancer in his penis that has gone untreated for far too long.

In fact, Richard's situation is so dire, it's hard to even describe. Essentially, the pony now has multiple different holes in his penis. and when urinating, the drainage can go everywhere, including onto the back of his legs. In this weather, that drainage then freezes, leaving the pony in unbearable pain.

A surgery to create a new penis for Richard would cost between $3,000-$4,000. If the money isn't raised soon, Richard will have to be euthanized because his quality of life is so low. If you want to donate, here is the link!
