Amazing Views & Brews: Craft Breweries of Maine’s Lakes and Mountains Region
Maine Craft Beer
Maine's craft beer industry is an absolute giant.
As of this publishing, there are over 100 breweries in the state. In 2019, Maine had the second-highest brewery per capita number (9.6) in the country.
This leads to two conclusions: Mainers love beer and local businesses.
This state was built to be a craft beer oasis. The culture, tourism, and support of everything local is basically an ethos for a craft brewery hotspot. And the numbers don't lie.
With so much wonderful beer in state, I thought it would be fun to focus on one region and highlight the breweries there.
Maine's Lake and Mountain Region
This is my favorite region of the state, and it lies well west of the hustle and bustle of Maine's happening coast. The area is filled with year-round recreation like skiing, boating, hiking, mountain climbing, tubing, and virtually anything that your wild heart desires.
Maine's lake and mountain region can be quite popular for locals and tourists alike. This means that a huge boost in outfitters and eateries has been seen, including a number of Maine's finest craft breweries popping up around the region.
The area breweries are very diverse, and include local spots, mountain locations, and even satellite locations of some of the larger breweries in the state. However, one thing connects them all: being true Maine originals.
