News Center Maine Celebrities Sleeping With the Dogs to Help Them Find Forever Homes
The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland wants your input.
Visit the 18 animal lovers who volunteer to spend the night with a doggy roommate to bring attention to their needs. It's the 5th annual Shelter Sleep-In! It's been a tough week because of the tragic events in Lewiston. It has been the focal point for all of Maine and the nation.
But these poor dogs don't know about Lewiston. They just know that they need your help. So 18 people sleep with dogs for a night in a themed and decorated kennel. You can come and look at all of them! It's a mini competition too! Who has the best theme and decorations and who raised the most money? Your input determines who wins!
2023 Shelter Sleep-In Celebrities
Yup, that's Lee Goldberg from News Center Maine with his little pup last year.
Stop by Friday, November 3, from 5-8pm, and you can pet Lee. Wait...I mean pet the dog! It's a shelter paw-ty! Lee is great at raising money, but not as good as Amanda Hill from News Center Maine. She really knows how to raise money!
She raised almost $10,000 last year! Will she be able to beat her total this year? If anyone can, Amanda can! And then there's one little ol' DJ from 94.9 HOM, Lori Voornas.
That's Lori and her dog Casco, a sweet little doggy she loves dearly. Now, she wants other dogs to find their forever family.
Can you help? I know Mainers have been asked to help a lot lately, and that fact is not lost on the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland in Westbrook. Plus, the holidays are around the corner; it's not an easy time. But again, these animals don't know any of that, so if you can help, thank you.
