Scarborough teachers haven't had a contract since August...and presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has their back.

 

He recently tweeted about the situation:

 

According to the Portland Press Herald, the teachers want more time to improve their...

practice, create better lessons and meet the increasing demands of the profession; an explicit complaints-and-investigations process that is clear and fair; and salaries that are comparable to districts in nearby communities with a similar tax base.

It's been a long process, that is now entering a new 'fact finding' phase. It includes a panel and a neutral chairperson. Teachers just want to do their job and know that they have the support to do it to the best of their ability.

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders gets that, and it is part of his campaign to support teachers and unions. Of all the jobs, teachers help your kids become decent and smart human beings - the least we can do is make sure they are compensated for their job.
