Bonanza Steakhouse in Sanford Closing Permanently
Bonanza Steakhouse, a staple in Sanford for over 35 years, is closing its due to affects from the cornoavirus.
In a Facebook post on the Bonanza Steakhouse page, owner Geoff Titherington said the closure was a joint decision between him and long-time General Manager Kerry Wears. Low sales and the real possibility of salad bars becoming a thing of the past in restaurants, a favorite of Bonanza customers, lead to the decision.
The announcement came a mere four hours before Governor Mills announced indoor dining in Androscoggin, Cumberland, and York counties can voluntarily resume on Wednesday, June 17.
That leave the Bonanza Steakhouse in Presque Isle as the only Bonanza remaining in Maine.
The last day for Sanford Bonanza will be June 30.
