Hi!

You're probably here reading this because you're wondering, "Who the heck is the new girl on The Q Morning Show?!" Well, it's me. I'm the new girl.

My name is Brittany Rose. This isn't my first radio rodeo but my journey getting here hasn't been a journey of working hard and achieving a life-long goal, at least, not to start. In fact, quite the opposite. I avoided my "impractical" dream.

When I was 17-years-old I did a job shadow at a radio station in Augusta. It was something that always interested me. Something I always wanted to do. But I realized something. The people I listened to, and at the time that included Jeff and Lori of The Q Morning Show, had been on my beloved presets for years. Being the practical teen/young adult I was, I decided to NOT pursue radio. I didn't see the point. I couldn't see myself breaking into an industry that seemed impossible to get in to. Why waste the money on the education? I'm also a Mainer to my core, I wasn't willing to to outside of Maine for a career that I thought I would love.

So, I didn't.

I didn't for years.

Despite that, when people would ask me what I wanted to do in the future, I'd always say things like, "I'd love to be in radio, but..."

Then one day a Facebook friend/radio host in Augusta messaged me on my birthday. We chatted and I mentioned how I was always interested in radio. He invited me to sit in on the morning show and long story short, before I left that day I was asked, "Have you ever considered working here?"

That kicked off a crazy journey of filling in during mornings, doing street-team work, having weekend shifts, then hosting my own morning show.

Every step of the way one thing was consistent. Gratitude. I had decidedly not gone in this direction for so long, every opportunity was one that was beyond what I had seen for myself.

Then a few months back I saw an opportunity to join the legendary Q Morning Show. I was equal parts excited and terrified but I thought to myself, "Self, if I don't do this now, when will I?" So I said yes, and here I am.

So, again, hi! I'm Brittany Rose. I'm 29-years-old. Born and raised in Maine. I spent most of my years in the Damariscotta area and in more recent years the Augusta area. I have a niece and a nephew who are arguably the greatest tiny humans on earth. I'm a big fan of going out with friends and dancing the night away here in Portland and in Old Orchard Beach. I come alive at concerts. To me, there's no better rush than singing along to my favorite bands surrounded by others with the same passion for the music.

You'll learn more about me as the show goes on, I'm sure. And I fully expect to learn more about myself as I adjust to living in a new area surrounded by new people. Thank you for letting me be a part of your mornings. I am so grateful to be here and I look forward to what the future here at "The Q" brings.
