Brunswick, Maine! You lucky dogs, you're getting your very own Margaritas Restaurant and Watering Hole!

Brunswick is the sixth location for Margaritas in Maine. This awesome Mexican restaurant and bar started back in the mid '80s with its first restaurant called Tio Juans in Concord, New Hampshire. The first Margaritas Mexican Restaurant and Watering Hole was soon opened after that in Orono, Maine.

Then they started expanding in both Maine and New Hampshire. They even have locations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  The Margaritas family grew every year, and they had a blast making some of the best fajitas, tacos, and Margaritas around. The Margaritas I call mine is the one tucked away in a brick building in Portland off St. John Street.

I have SUCH fond memories of this place. From hanging with friends at happy hours in the bar to dinners that you could never finish. The owners of Margaritas wanted to really stand out, so they knew that they needed "more Mexico in the recipe than anyone else."

They took trips to Mexico in search of carved chairs, furnishings, artwork, and colorful tile by the truckload. And of course, they could imitate the best flavors at home, so you got a true Mexican experience. It's a nice little Mexican vacation without ever having to get on a plane! So no need to make plane reservations, Brunswick! Your Margaritas will open November 1 at the Merrymeeting Plaza. They were hoping for this summer, and had some delays.

Margaritas has Mexican food and drink down to a science. But they also have a fun atmosphere down, too! Bring the family, your best buds, or just sneak away after work for some baby chimis and an ice-cold margarita!
