The Women of Achievement Awards Brunch is the YWCA’s biggest fundraiser, and was founded to honor the powerful leadership of women in Maine.
This is the 9th year for the awards brunch, and it was started by recognizing the outgoing YWCA Board President, Lee Young. The decision to honor her work inspired YWCA executive leadership to create annual awards to celebrate the often overlooked accomplishments of women in the Central Maine community and state.

The Women of Achievement Awards Brunch is one of the most powerful celebrations of women leaders. But it's also a chance to support the YWCA’s work in Lewiston-Auburn. Funds raised through the event benefit the childcare and aquatics programming, the YWCA’s women’s empowerment programming, and the organization’s ongoing advocacy work for justice and equity in our community. The YWCA's mission is to eliminate racism and empower women, and this brunch recognizes all that carry that mission to heart.
