Dear Diary,

Ever have those moments where you want to do a drastic change to your hair. Whether it is style, color, or both? And you've saved up to go to a nice salon and get it done. You are really enjoying chatting with your stylist. And you get that wonderful shampoo/head massage.

But then, the worst thing ever happens. Your stylist spins you around and you hate it. Everything is wrong. The color isn't right. Your bangs are too short. Whatever they did... they didn't do it right. You TRUSTED them not to screw up your hair.. HAIR.

That exact thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I asked for a lavender ombré look. I've been obsessed with lavender colored hair and really wanted to give it a try. For some reason, my stylist mistook the word lavender  for violet... like bright purple. I was not happy. I tried to keep my poker face on as I was leaving the salon. As soon as I got into my car I immediately called my best friend to get her advice on what to do... and after a good cry/freakout/breathing exercises... I went back in and told them I hated it. They very graciously toned down my kool-aid purple hair to a more manageable tone.

I love my hair now. And I've learned my lesson. Don't be afraid to speak up if you don't like something. While it is only hair, and it grows and can be fixed... it definitely sucks when it isn't anything what you expected.

Here are the pictures before and after they fixed my color:

Have you ever had any hair-raising experiences at the salon? How did you deal with them? Let me know!

Michelle
