I started having trouble seeing things on my phone and Lori suggested a while back I should try a pair of reading glasses. I resisted because back in college I wore glasses and everyone thought I looked like a local celebrity. I got a pair last week and now I'm wondering if I still do.

I'm getting old and I hate it. When I noticed I had to move my phone back and forth to find the sweet spot where everything came into focus I knew it was time to get my eyes checked.

I'm working on finding an eye doctor, but in the meantime I picked up a pair of readers at Hannaford. I don't want glasses, but I know I can't do contacts because I can't even manage to get eyedrops in my eyes without someone pinning me down a prying my eye open like the scene in A Clockwork OrangeIt makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.

I also don't want glasses because back in college I got a pair after an eye doctor said I had astigmatism. When I got them, all my friends thought that I looked like WLBZ 2 in Bangor's sports reporter at the time, Dale Duff. I didn't see it, but here's a look for comparison.

This is me in the middle in 1991 with the glasses. Just ignore that giant flash next to my head. You'll get the idea.

And here's a 1991 screen shot of Dale Duff from a WLBZ promo. He's of course on the left.

I've never met Dale Duff, but he's a legend in Bangor and today he works for a sister station of ours up there. Back in college though I felt I knew him very well because I got called Dale Duff all the time when I was wearing those glasses.

Fast forward to 2015. Let's compare again. Me on the left, Dale on the right from a video from 92.9 The Ticket in Bangor.

I'm not seeing it. Didn't then. Don't now. Dale's much better looking. He also has lot more hair than I do now.

What do you think? Do Dale and I look alike in 1991 or 2015 or both? Or neither? Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook and Twitter @Q979 so I can show them to my college friends to prove they were on something.
