One of the most popular trends on YouTube is ASMR videos, but this one with Maine lobster makes me wonder how it got over 2 million views.

If you aren't familiar with ASMR it stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, a real fancy way of describing that relaxing sensation that you get when you hear certain sounds or see certain sights. It's a really hard thing to explain to anyone who hasn't experienced it. I have not.

ASMR videos on YouTube number in the millions and it looks like the majority of them are done by women. Some just speak softly while others just make noises with objects and household items. I did a search and found this woman who has over a million subscribers on YouTube, so she's making money hand over fist doing stuff like pretending to give the viewer an eye exam while speaking in just over a whisper.

Does that do anything to you? For me it's just plain creepy, but then I found this.

This AMSRER (I think I just made that term up) decided a good video would be to have us watch and listen to her heat a lobster. What? The only feeling I got out of this was nausea.

Just the act of cracking open a lobster is gross, but add the sound of every bite of it you take and it becomes unbearable! Am I the only one that thinks this is disgusting? 17,000 people have liked it on Facebook, so some people do, including several people who said in the comments the would like to see her eating more seafood like crab.

I just don't understand.
