I can't think of a better state to back electric car usage than Portland, Maine. We love a good 'save the environment' movement like this one. Even the city supports:

"The City of Portland wants to make driving an electric vehicle practical and convenient for residents and visitors alike" -portlandmaine.gov

It wasn't until I bought my first Jeep 4xe last year that I began to notice which parking lots have charging stations like the Hannaford in the Back Cove.

Here's 9 locations in the area that will also be free of charge to use (with some minimal exceptions).

Are charging stations free for electric vehicles?

This question comes up a lot in conversation for me when somebody asks about my half electric Jeep Wrangler. Truthfully, the simple answer is no, however I've definitely run into stations that will charge you, so my recommendation is just to check ahead!

Here's a location finder if you're an EV driver outside of Portland chargefinder.

Overall, the launch of the ev world has become bigger than ever and I think it's a really great thing. I never thought a Wrangler could even be made half electric but here we are out here saving air pollution and what not! Cheers to that.
