Girls on the Run Fall 5K in Person and Back in Brunswick
Girls on the Run will be in person again for the fall 5k - don't miss this exciting event!
Q97.9 is a huge supporter of Girls on the Run. We firmly stand behind their mission. GOTR inspires ALL girls to build confidence and make intentional decisions while fostering care and compassion for themselves and others. Plus, getting girls to move and use physical activity as a way to socialize is important. Please be a part of the first in-person 5k since Covid. Mark your calendars for Sunday, November 13, at Brunswick Landing. Lori from the Q Morning Show will be there to kick off the race and encourage every girl as they cross the finish line!
Why it matters
Girls face social pressures and conflicting messages about how they should act and who they should be. Studies show that by adolescence, girls' confidence drops about twice as much as boys'. Stressors related to COVID-19 have undoubtedly affected girls, between social isolation, anxiety, and more limited opportunities for physical activity. Girls need GOTR now more than ever. They believe that every girl is inherently full of power and potential. By knowing they are the leaders of their lives, these are the girls who will change the world.
Be a part of the inspiring 5k - Volunteers needed
At Girls on the Run, girls are working towards being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a 5k running event. On November 13, girls will gather with their teammates, coaches, family, and friends to celebrate all of the growth and accomplishments they have made this spring season! Having seen these events in the fall and spring, there is nothing more uplifting than watching a girl who has worked so hard finish a 5k. For many of the girls, their first one ever.
Join the girls at the Girls on the Run 5K on November 13 at Brunswick Landing. 5K Registration and Volunteer sign-up are open now.
