In case you hadn't heard, it's looking to be a bit of a messy night this New Year's Eve night into Tuesday.

The coast will get mostly rain, according to WGME, but it will be more of the inland that will get hit with some snow.

WMTW states, "A winter weather advisory has been issued for southern and central Maine starting Monday at 9 p.m. until Tuesday afternoon."

The news station states that most towns will be seeing snow by midnight.

So if you're out partying to celebrate the New Year, make sure to be careful out on the roads considering the wintry mix.

Both WGME and WMTW report that Tuesday morning will see some leftover rain and snow before things taper off.

That said, the National Weather Service has released some forecast numbers for snowfall totals and it looks like the further north you go, the more snow is going to dump on the state.

Here are WGME's and WMTW's forecast numbers for snowfall as well.

What better way to ring in the new year in Maine than with a little snow and rain, right?
