Did you ever have a toy as a kid that now as an adult you suddenly find is worth some decent money today? If I had a time machine, I'd go back in time and make sure I didn't lose this one.

In 1981 Milton Bradley released a board game called Dark Tower. It was at the height of the Dungeons and Dragons craze so it had a similar role playing theme of warriors, wizards, dragons and goblins, in a battle to storm the Dark Tower. Here's the commercial that suckered me in while watching Battle of the Planets:

I had this game and it was amazing by 1981 standards. The intricate set up had a board with an electronic tower in the middle with a keypad. By entering commands on the key pad, the tower told you what monsters you would encounter, who you'd haggle with for supplies, and chart your progress toward being the first player to survive and storm the Dark Tower.

I saw this on display at Coast City Comics on Congress Street in Portland selling for somewhere in the neighborhood of $200! If only I had $200 to spare I would have snatched it right up. I checked on Ebay and one person is selling a Dark Tower game for $790! Crazy!

The lesson out of all this? Don't throw any of your kids toys away! I don't even want to talk about what some of my Star Wars figures might be worth today.
