When you think about Stephen King, you may think about his novels or the films based on novels. However, one of his novels became all too real for me.

According to a survey conducted by SNWS Digital, many people say that their car accurately represents their personality more than their job, clothing, or taste in music. However, I would have to disagree as my car was straight out of a Stephen King novel, and I would like to believe my personality is not the same as my car was.

If you haven't guessed it yet, I ended up naming my car Christine and it's crazy how fitting that name was. I say was, because after everything I chose to sell my car.

Here are the facts, I originally gave my car its name because it was red, just like the one in the Stephen King-inspired film. Little did I know, it was going to become more like the novel.

No, my car never killed anyone, attempted to kill anyone, or changed music randomly, but I swear it had a mind of its own.

For instance, one summer I was a nanny and had to work weekdays down the Cape. That summer chose to be one of the hottest and most humid New England summers that I had ever seen. Well of course while I am driving three children they start to complain because out of nowhere my car's air conditioning decided to stop.

I got that resolved by getting a brand new AC unit in the car. My car seemed perfect after that, however when I went back down to the Cape to work, she decided to go out yet again. That's when I started to learn, that Christine was going to only be trouble from then on out.

I kept Christine for years, and she only seemed to continue to give me trouble. My car would choose when it wanted to play a CD, actually connect my phone calls to Bluetooth, when windows wanted to work and believe me that's only the start of the list. It got to the point that my car would only start for certain people, even with a brand new battery.

I don't know if my car's actions were because of the name that I chose or if it was just a coincidence that I chose that name. However, thanks to Stephen King, I had a fitting name for my little red car that seemed to have a mind of its own.
